In the same plot is buried a grandson, dilled in an accident on Kies Hill, when a load of hay he was carting overturned and he was pinned under it in 1919. |

He died as a result of a fall from the roof of a new building at Sandy Creek, on which he was working only a few months before his father was transferred to Redcliff School. Roy was very much esteemed in Lyndoch being a prominent memeber of the local tennis club, church choir and brass band. Reverend Rederick Walker conducted the service. | |||

He and wife Maria lived at Tanunda before coming to Lyndoch in 1876 only a few years before Ernst died in 1882. He was a blacksmith by trade and established a business on Lot 4, Lyndoch South. Maria died in 1900 and even at this late date the German inscription was still used. The headstones are the only ones in this cemetery with the epitaph in German. Unfortunately both have been broken, which detracts from the uniqueness of this gravesite. |
