AHRENS Arnold W O 08.10.1901 12.06.1997 96 YRS (John).  Came to Lyndoch about 1913 working in both general stores.  He returned in 1929 as a general storekeeper, delivering in the area.  In retirement he did many voluntary 'odd jobs' for the community.  He was involved with the Tennis Club, Recreation park, Institute, School and Holy Trinity Church.

BALOGH John William c1955 27.03.1976 21 YRS Eldest son of Nance & Bill, Road accident.  Son of Bela Balogh, licencee of the Lyndoch Hotel from 1958 to 1990.  John grew up in Lyndoch, attending the Primary school.  He was tragically killed in a road accident near Sandy Creek at the age of twenty one.

BARRITT Walter c1856 03.08.1927 71 YRS He inherited 'Highlands', a property with vines and sheep, in 1881 from his father, Joseph Barritt.   He was involved in the community being Chairman of the Barossa East Council and School Board of Advice as well as warden of Holy Trinity Church.  Two sons, aged 5 and 17 are also buried there.

BISHOP Stephen George 1860 1937 77 YRS Husband of Lydia.  He migrated with his foster parents, Elizabeth and Henry ALEXANDER, on board the 'Salamanca' in 1866.  They settled at Altona, near Lyndoch, and as a young man, Stephen worked as a general hand and boundary rider on Pewsey Vale Station.  he and his wife Lydia raised a family of ten children with two dying as infants and buried in unmarked graves in this cemetery.

BURGE M W c1843 05.11.1942 99 YRS Meshach BURGE was the son of John & Eliza Burge, migrating with his family at the age of 12 on the 'Loevestein'.  He became a winemaker for Springett's 'Hillside' winery before taking over the property 'Wilsford' which had been established by his father.  Community involvement included the Farmers' Union, Insitiute, and holding all offices in the IOOF Lodge.

CRAMBROOK Arthur c1828 1920 92 YRS Arrived with his wife in 1883 in the steamer 'Cuzco'.  About 1897, he took over the Lyndoch General Store from Paul Klose. He was a community minded citizen being Secretary of the Institute and Literary Society, a hall Trustee, member of the Recreation Park Committee and the Williamstown Rifle Club.

FERGUSSON Charles Annells c1881 29.12.1942 61 YRS Died at Lyndoch.  He came to Lyndoch as Clrek of the Barossa District Council  in 1927 and remained so until his death in 1943.  The Council office ws on the northern side of his house, near the Lyndoch butcher shop.  He was initially buried in Willaston, but later interred at Holy Trinity Cemetery,
FIEBIG Dorothy Irene 1909 1994 85 YRS She was the daughter of Henry Fiebig, storekeeper of Lyndoch.   She taught music for most of her life as well as being the accompanist at a large number of local concerts.  She was also organist and Sunday school teacher at Holy Trinity Church for many years.

FIEBIG Peter John c1928 06.01.1978 50 YRS He was the son of Henry Fiebig, proprietor of the Lyndoch General Store.  Following his eighteenth birthday, he joined the RAAf serving in Morotai for a few months prior to peace being declared in 1945.  After the war he ran the store in partnership with his brother Max, mainly involved with the delivery of orders to customers around the district for many years.

FRANKCOM Charles c1823 01.01.1880 57 YRS Charles Frankcom settled at Pewsey Vale Station in 1859 and was overseer for Joseph Gilbert.  In 1867 his eldest son drowned at the age of eight but it is not known where he is buried.  The headstone has the name of the youngest son who died in Perth, Western Australia.  His wife Elizabeth, is buried with another son in a grave on the opposite side of the creek.

HAESE Nancy Marian 01.07.1922 30.04.1942 19 YRS Beloved wife and daughter of William Ferdinand HAESE.  Wife and daughter of William haese, who lived on a property just our of Lyndoch, were tragically killed in a level crossing accident on 30th April, 1942.  They were on their way to pick grapes, together with passenger Robert Lee, when their vehicle collided with a railcar on the Jollytown Road crossing.  Rober Lee is buried in an unmarked grave in the same cemetery.

The inscription on the headstone, from Job Chapter 17 verse 13 reads - If I want, the grave is mine house.  I have made my bed in the darkness.  There is also a small stone at the foot of the grave inscribed R H 1864 which provided this gravesite with a unique style

Assistant in the survey of Adealide.  Pioneer Vignernon and Winemaker at Jacobs Creek.

JARMAN Elizabeth       Our Mother.  With husband George and 2 children, she arrived in 1904 and lived in Gilbert Street next to the 'Barossa Inn' on the western side.  Her eldest son enlisted in WWI, returning in 1919 with his English bride to a welcome home celebration.  Elizabeth is buried next to her youngest child who predeceased  her aged 6.

LYNCH Leonard       He took over the property 'Berryfied' in 1923.  Vines and prunes were the main activities and he had an evaporator to dry the fruit.  In 1940 he joined the AIF as a driver attached to the 7th Division and saw active service in the Middle East.  He was also a member of the Volunteer Defence Corps.

RICE Asa William   20.10.1945   Late of 4th Field Co. husband of Charlotte Ellen.  He lived at Lyndoch and was a ganger in the Railways, working on the local line.  Unfortunately he was killed when his tricycle collided head on with a goods train, on the line about a mile out on the Gawler side of the town, as he was returning from Sandy Creek.

RUSHALL William c1816 29.03.1905 Lyndoch 89 YRS Husband of Elizabeth.  He arrived with his parents in 1839 on the 'Resource'.  After his marriage he came to Lyndoch where he farmed the property 'Berryfield'.  This pioneering couple raised ten children and celebrated 54 years of marriage before Elizabeth died in 1898.  In the same plot is buried a grandson, dilled in an accident on Kies Hill, when a load of hay he was carting overturned and he was pinned under it in 1919.

SCHRADER Roy       He  was the twenty five year old son of  Public School Headmaster, Herman Schrader, who taught at the school from 1909 to 1915.  He died as a result of a fall from the roof of a new building at Sandy Creek, on which he was working only a few months before his father was transferred to Redcliff School.  Roy was very much esteemed in Lyndoch being a prominent memeber of the local tennis club, church choir and brass band.  Reverend Rederick Walker conducted the service.

SCHUNKE Maria Henrietta Charlotte 13.02.1836 28.02.1900 Walkerville 64 YRS Ernst & Maria SCHUNKE, emigrated in 1846 on the 'Fatel'.  He and wife Maria lived at Tanunda before coming to Lyndoch in 1876 only a few years before Ernst died in 1882.  He was a blacksmith by trade and established a business on Lot 4, Lyndoch South.  Maria died in 1900 and even at this late date the German inscription was still used.  The headstones are the only ones in this cemetery with the epitaph in German.  Unfortunately both have been broken, which detracts from the uniqueness of this gravesite.

SELLS George W c1865 07.10.1885 20 YRS George Sells was the twenty year old son of Reverend Alfred Sells, incumbent of Holy Trinity church, Lyndoch from 1877 to 1884.  The burial service, said to be the only one not taken by Sells himself, was conducted by Canon Coombs of Gawler.  Rev Sells was noted for his paintings in the area.

ZIMMERMANN Gordon Paul c1892 15.03.1895 Woodlands, Lyndoch 2 YRS 4 MTHS Eldest son of P & O Zimmermann, drowned at the age of 3.
ZIMMERMANN Norman Gordon 15.02.1898 09.01.1965 66 YRS  
ZIMMERMANN Paul Ferdinand c1870 24.02.1920 Woodlands, Lyndoch 50TH YR Farmed the 'Woodlands' property, inherited from his father, at the turn of the twentieth century, growing vines and running sheep.  He was a community mided citizen involved in the Agriculture Bureau and Hall Committee.  He was also the proprietor of the 'Barossa Inn' from 1906 to 1908.  A young son, drowned at the age of 3, and is buried in the next grave.
