| Plans for the Berwick Cemetery were first lodged and a recommendation made that 8 acres of land be set aside for a cemetery in November 1859, although plans were drawn up as early as February 1858. First known burials occurred in the early 1860s with burials before then generally occurring at Dandenong Cemetery. Records were haphazardly kept until the early 1870s. |
