Yering Station Lone Graves

 


There three unmarked graves alongside the main road near Yering Station Winery. The exact location has not yet been determined. Apparently a very large willow tree marked the site of the graves until about 1902 but there is some dispute as to the location of this tree.

 

George Isaac Watts. Died 4th March 1845. Age 10. Stepson of an employee at Yering Station

Frederick Landry. Died 1857, age 30. An employee of the De Castella family at Yering.

David Hart. Died 1861, age 40. Reputed to be a miner of his way to the diggings
