Brentwood Cemetery
(Also Known As Minlacowie)
Cut Line Road
Brentwood
| Brentwood was named by one of the early settlers after his birthplace in England. It originally meant "Burntwood". The Brentwood cemetery was also previously known as the Minlacowie Cemetery. 31 headstones remain. A very old cemetery with the entrance off a dirt road, with only a wrought iron gate visible from the road, you follow a track into the surrounding bush land and discover cluster of older graves and headstones. The surrounding bush contains many wildflowers and native grasses, and the community are currently petitioning for the cemetery to be Heritage listed. If visiting the cemetery please remain on the visible path to avoid damage to the surrounding flora. |
