It is with the deepest respect that we extend our sympathy to the family and
friends of the late Mr W (Bill) Paterson who passed away on Monday February 23,
2009.
Mr Paterson was awarded the status of the first Freeman of the Shire in
recognition on his extensive involvement in local government in Esperance for
over 28 years from 1941 to 1978 during which time he served as Chairman/Shire
President for 14 years.
Mr Paterson headed a family committed to the community of Esperance with his
son, Don Paterson also a long standing and respected member of Council and his grandaughter, Beth O'Callaghan the current Manager
Financial Services at the Shire.
Mr Paterson will be sadly missed by his family, friends and colleagues
throughout the community.
